... hey! i've got a good idea!

My family hates it when i say that - it usually means "hey! Let's paint the kitchen!" or "Wouldn't it be a good idea to put another perennial bed here?"

But that's not what this is. You know when you are used to doing things one way, and all of a sudden something occurs to you - Wham! Just like that? (Oprah calls them 'aha moments'. Whatever.)

Well, i had one of those. I decided to work out a t-shirt pattern using some really funky cotton/poly blend called Cilantro (i like the name, hate the herb.) Oh, oh. WAY too stretchy. Even tho' it's for a t-shirt. But i already started one ball - can't sell it if it's already been pulled out.

Wait a minute! Chemo caps are wonderful in cotton - but unfortunately cotton has no memory so once you stretch it to put on your head, it kinda stays that shape. Not very attractive.

BUT Cilantro has cotton/poly - nice and stretchy.

WHAM! new yarn product for chemo caps. i'll let you know how they work out. Hopefully this is an 'aha' moment; not an 'oh no' moment!

Beginner Classes!

We have a set time for beginner classes - Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 until 3. Doesn't matter if you can cast on or not; we'll teach you. Can't follow a pattern? We'll teach you. Need to learn how to make a garment and put it together? We'll teach you.

Bring what you're working on or start something new.

It's only $10 per class and worth every penny. At least i think so...

WOW!

If you didn't come, you weren't part of it? What was it? The biggest yarn crawl yet! We had 6 shops participating and it was terrific! I met some wonderful people, who i hope will become customers and reacquainted myself with some steady customers!

We are planning to do this again in about 6ish months - you really gotta come - it was 20% off everything in my shop - including Addi Clicks which retail for $179.00 (that WOULD have been a savings of almost $36.)

well, if you weren't proud of yourself before ...

So, i 'm busy in the shop with lessona, and two people come in looking for projects and someone comes in on their own looking for a specific yarn ... AND i'm feeling very sorry for myself because i returned from Mexico with a wicked coldsore. Normal day, right?

Then the phone rings, and a girl identifies herself as a patient at Sunnybrooke Hospital in the Cancer unit. She just wanted to call to say thank you for the wonderful Wellness Caps and tells me that they will be wonderful for her when her hair falls out in a month.

What coldsore? And those aren't tears in my eyes ... much.

Baby, it's cold outside - except in Mexico!

We're back from sunny Mexico.
Didn't get even one of Taryn's socks finished.
Instead, i did this.
All week.
Lay on the beach.
And sometimes beside the pool.
And i loved it.

See you on Tuesday in the shop ... will someone bring me a tequila sunrise around noon?
